As a result of the exemplary cooperation of the University of Debrecen Faculty of Informatics and leading IT enterprises Debrecen Testing Board (DTB) was founded. The aim of this initiative is to provide a platform on the field of testing that can help increasing the prestige and popularity of testing, dissemination of knowledge and making contact between entrants and the labour market.
The DTB Story
The first course started by DTB was a pilot course at October 2013. As a result of the experience gained during this course and the exceptionally positive reflections from both the labour market and the students the official course Competent Software Testing in Practice was accepted by the University. The course started with 2 class of lectures and 2 of laboratory practices. Besides theoretical training real practice is also included. Many testing experts of leading regional IT enterprises were involved to the teaching supplementing the material with real examples, problems and case studies, that usually arise during their everyday work. Besides the partners of DTB Epam Systems Ltd. also acts a significant role in the teaching. Based on the exam results enterprises seeking for testing entrants can select from the graduated students with the aid of Schönherz School Co-operative. During the cooperation a huge number of theoretical and practical lecture notes and exercises have been created that cover a broad area of software testing. To provide more help for future teachers of the field a teaching software environment has also been assembled.
Mission statement
The aim of DTB is to
- provide well trained testing engineers for the labour market in Debrecen and in the region,
- help making software testing a acknowledged profession,
- help members to follow up to date international trends and to help them develope the profession.
In order to reach these goals DTB organizes professional meetings, prepare practice-oriented trainings and help members to reach these aims through their basic activities. Members of DTB are companies involved to software, training institutions, labour mediator companies and civil persons.
